Decorating....for real people!

 As much as I love to surf decorating blogs, they really are never going to be reality in my house.  Every space here is used, cluttered, and a piece of our everyday life.  Take our shelves for instance:

 

 Trophies from YMCA games......

 

 .....projects from paint-it-yourself trips that we love doing together....

 ....and art projects from school. 

This is our reality.

 

 Legos are another part of our everyday reality, and I decided that they aren't going to be tucked away upstairs to gather dust.  Nope, they are going to gather dust right here where we can see them!

 This year's Winter Village (my first of many, I hope!) took me days to put together.  It isn't going to be packed away to only enjoy once a year.

 

 The great shelf re-do of 2013 is underway.  And yes, our reality includes backpacks and ball bags. 

 

And a place of honor for all of our dust-collecting memories. 

 

This is our life.  Right here, in the middle of the living room.
