What's happening around here.....

This is what's happening around these parts these days:
And this.....
....and consequently this.....

the mess that comes with painting the other room...

but soon....ahhhh....this....my new paint color.....
Hopefully soon after that, my new curtains (with this wonderful beautiful fabric I picked out that is yet to be purchased....hoping they still have it).....will be made and up.... to match my multi-orange color cabinet...... and be one step closer to seeing something come together in this room.

I am loving this paint from Sherwin Williams: Harmony Zero-VOC paint, and I can tell a huge difference.  There is barely any paint smell at all, which is important to people with any type of breathing difficulty, and just better in general for the health of your house.   With mild asthma, I have to keep windows open while painting, and well, with the temps the way it is now, that's not a great option!  With this paint, though, I have not been bothered at all with odor.   And when Carter walked through the door, the first thing he said wasn't "What have you been painting today?"  I like my child walking through the doors not being overwhelmed with paint fumes.

The color is 50/50 6093 and 6094 custom mixed at Sherwin Williams.  I have the lighter color in my kitchen, and painted the stripes the darker color; you can see both colors here.  I love them all!  I'm hoping most of this will be done tomorrow, so I can get the room back together.

FYI:  I am not doing this painting myself!  We have a handyman that helps us out from time to time when a project is beyond my abilities; he was out of work, and I wanted this done, and he does a fabulous job for a great price.  So he's here for a few days helping me out.  He is also going to help me finish up a few thresholds left over from the basement project that I know will look better with a professional touch.  But I will be looking over his shoulder....he's used to it!

And another note: I am not affiliated with Sherwin Williams nor was I paid to tout their paint. It's just good, and I wanted to share.  Not that if they call me would I turn them down to advertise for them, but they haven't called. So my opinions are still free.
