Arenal: Zipline Canopy Tour

We were confused by the name of this tour: we knew it was ziplining, but it was named as a "canopy tour".  Hmmm.  Well, when you zipline over 15 times, and never touch the ground, are 130km high (no, I really don't want to do the math and know how high that is), go 50 miles per hour: voila: canopy tour!  And as our last driver was describing the amazing things about this lovely country, one was "los hombres lindos": my spanish is "muy limitado", but I got his message with help. He asked if I met and "hombres lindos", and I said, "oh yes: Carlos!"

Meet Carlos taking my own hijo lindo on a Superman ride across the zipline.

Carlos and Marvin were two incredible guides in the canopy.  And by canopy, I mean this:

We entered the first zipline by foot, but after that, we went from suspended platfrom to platform by cable, 130 km high.  The longest line was over 1/2 mile, and we went from 35 mpg to 55 mpg (from lightest to heaviest).
The views were amazing, the rides exhiliarting.  The heights....high; monkeys and toucans and 500 year old trees surrounded us; Carlos asking how a mother could send her precious hijo off on such a freaky fast ride along, before he dangled me off the platform; fresh pineapple waiting for us at the end.

It was our second zipline tour (the first last summer in Gatlinburg, TN), and after 16 or so rides, Carter was bummed that it was over "already".

Bye baby boy!!
